NBA free agency: Heat to challenge Celtics in Gordon Hayward sweepstakes

In won’t be all that easy for the Utah Jazz to re-sign Gordon Hayward, as the Miami Heat reportedly will join the running for the All-Star’s services.

The Celtics have long been considered the top suitor for Hayward with his former Butler coach Brad Stevens now in Boston. However, reported Miami will make the Jazz star a priority when free agency begins July 1.

Though Utah can’t offer Hayward, who averaged 21.9 points last season, the allure of larger markets like Miami and Boston, it can offer a five-year deal worth an estimated $180 million. All other teams can only max out at a four-year deal ?and an estimated $133 million.

Blake Griffin also is a rumored target for both Boston and Miami as they continue to chase LeBron James and the Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference.

Ball is an analytics darling, but you need to look deeper than the numbers to see the totality of his game — both positively and negatively. On the plus side, he creates a culture of unselfishness for a team. On the downside, a lot of his points came off the ball this season, and he’s a limited creator for his own offense right now. There’s a lot to like, and a lot to question with his game.

Isaac has some questions offensively — namely in terms of confidence, passing and shooting consistency — but there’s a lot of upside there. However, where he already shines is on the defensive end. He’s long, athletic and switchable, plus has a nose for the ball both when protecting the weak side of the rim and rebounding. redskins_048
